Barbari Bread - warm and fresh from the oven |

Menu |
We ordered foul (fava beans). It was nicely seasoned with garlic and fresh lemon. Armenian cucumbers, radishes, and mint were served with the dish. Yogurt and hummus came on the side with pita bread.

We also ordered lahmajoun (spicy meat pie). It was crispy and the meat topping delicious.

We tried the Zaatar (herb) bread. They asked if we wanted it soft or crispy and lightly or heavily spiced. We ordered it crispy and heavily spiced.

One of our companions ordered Falafel. The dish was warm, and the Falafel patties were crisp, served on grilled pita with a nice tahini
dressing, parsley, and chopped tomatoes.

Kneffah be Jubney and Kaak |
To finish our meal, we wanted something sweet. We ordered the Kneffah be Jubney and Kaak, which turned out to be a wonderful dish. The dessert had two sweet cheeses and shredded colored filo dough on sweet Kaak bread, topped with sesame seeds. The clear sweet syrup served on the side is a strong rose water, and our companion drenched her Kaak with it.
Occasion Bakery is open Monday - Saturday 9 AM - 7 PM. The street address is 4573 North Fresno Street in Fresno.
