We ordered two appetizers -- Spring Rolls that were fresh, crisp, and contained a shrimp, and Papaya Salad. Papaya Salad is shredded green papaya, which is more like a vegetable such as a cucumber than a fruit. The Papaya Salad comes two ways: Thai style or Lao style. Thai style has dried shrimp, peanuts, garlic, tomatoes, lime juice, and chili topped with peanuts. Lao style is much darker with fermented fish sauce and shrimp paste with Thai chili, tomatoes, and lime juice. We ordered the Lao style. They will ask you how hot you want it. They do not tone down the heat for Western taste. Medium is very spicy.
