FOB is a seafood restaurant featuring fried and boiled seafood. The dishes range from boiled crab to fried fish. They also serve raw oysters. There are even a few dishes for non-seafood eaters such as vegetarian drunken noodles and fried chicken tenders. There is a choice of appetizers and a salad bar. FOB stands for Fried or Boiled, but there is also a sign calling FOB Fresh off the Boat. We ordered half a dozen oysters and clam chowder to start. Clam chowder in California is New England-style white (milk-based) clam chowder.

Tabasco (Louisiana) and Tapatio (Mexican) Hot Sauce for Oysters (There was no horseradish, a serious omission for oyster lovers)

Tables are covered in plastic so you can eat with abandon.

There are several boiled combos on the menu, and we ordered the smallest with a combination of all the boiling spices called The Whole Shebang. The two of us ordered the Sampler Combo. It contained clams, mussels, crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and hot links.

FOB also has fish not on the menu!

FOB opens at noon every day and closes at 9 except on Friday and Saturday when they are open until 10. FOB has .50 cent oysters on Sunday, crawfish for $4.99 per pound on Tuesday, and whole lobsters for $10.99 on Wednesday.

We did not try the fried food, but they do have fish and chips and other fried specialties.
