DiCicco's Italian Restaurant is a chain started in Fresno in 1956 by four brothers. There are now 19 DiCicco's, mostly in the Fresno area started by the children of the founders and still family-owned. Clovis, Madera, Sanger, Hanford, Visalia, and San Jose are the other California sites. The first out-of-state location has been opened in Colorado.We visited the location at 2221 West Shaw Avenue in Fresno. The menu is classic old school red sauce with checkered tablecloths. They also serve pizza.

The portions were generous. There were tables set for one, for two, or for large family tables. Most people had take out containers when they left.

Our bill came to $34.37 including tax.

Di Cicco's is open seven days a week. 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
