Phoenician Garden - Mediterranean Bar & Grill

Phoenician Garden

Phoenician Garden Mediterranean Bar & Grill is a Lebanese restaurant located in north Fresno at 1025 East Herndon Avenue just off of First Street near Saint Agnes Hospital. It is a family-owned restaurant that serves lunch and dinner seven days a week. They are open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

They have a complete menu from appetizers to dessert, but we decided to order several Lebanese classics. The food not only tasted good but was nicely presented.

Hummus with Beef Shawarma
Shawarma ("Sha-warm-a") is a Levantine meat preparation. The Levant is the entire region bordering the eastern Mediterranean sea, and meats or mixed meats are grilled on a vertical spit until tender, sometimes all day.

Fatoush
A fatoush is a Levantine salad made from greens, usually other veggies, and toasted or fried pita bread, and with a dressing that usually includes fresh lemon juice.

Lentil Soup
Fish Kabobs with Roasted Vegetables and Bulgur Pilaf (bulgur is cracked wheat)
Kibbeh
Kibbeh is a signature Lebanese dish. It is ground meat (usually beef or lamb) mixed with bulgur (cracked wheat) and stuffed with a seasoned meat filling (onions usually with pine nuts and spices like allspice and cumin).

Seating at Phoenician Garden
Our selection of dishes came to $45.31 including tax. It was a hearty lunch for two and leftovers for two more lunches.
