Pea Soup Andersen's is a restaurant-marketplace located in Santa Nella, about five miles north of Los Banos on Highway 5, about 80 miles from Fresno. It is in a Danish-themed building, complete with a windmill outside. Inside there is a marketplace, Danish Bakery, coffee shop, dining room, and bar-lounge.
Pea Soup Andersen's has two locations. The Santa Nella location on the main route between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and the original in Buellton, next to Solvang, the Danish Capital of America, located on highway 101 between Santa Barbara and Hearst Castle. The Buellton location opened in 1928, and the Santa Nella location opened in 1976.
Pea Soup Andersen's is open every day from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
We stopped for lunch and ordered two entrees and of course a bowl of pea soup.

There was a location, briefly, in Selma.
ReplyDeleteAs kids we used to like the spreadable cheese samples -- right out of a crock! -- at the Buellton location.
I am looking forward to this when they reopen.
