Grandpa's Popcorn & Sweets

Grandpa's Popcorn & Sweets is a new locally owned sweet shop in north Fresno with popcorn, cupcakes, candy, and unique items such as chocolate-dipped jalapenos. It is in a strip center at 673 East Nees Avenue next to Save Mart. Grandpa's makes 65 different flavors of popcorn and many are available for tasting. The popcorn flavors range from the classic butter to fruit flavors and dill pickle.

We decided to try a variety of items so we bought four mini cupcakes, a bag of caramel cheese popcorn, meringues, an M&M pretzel rod, and a chocolate covered jalapeno pepper. The most difficult decision was which flavor popcorn to select. Chocolate covered jalapenos are one of their best sellers. Eating a jalapeno pepper is always interesting because every pepper is different and you can never tell how hot it is. The one we bought was extremely hot, and we did not finish it.
