The Vineyard Farmer's Market is a 38 year old Fresno institution. Located at the corner of Shaw and Blackstone Avenues, it is open on Saturday morning from 7:00 a.m. until noon and on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. year round. It is a curated market so the merchants must be selected. The food varies by season but there is always in season local produce as well as other farm products and baked goods. We were there on a Saturday in the Spring and had breakfast at the outdoor tables. We bought coffee, baked goods, and fruit. Some weeks there is also a tamale truck. The Vineyard was built as a market modeled after markets in France.

The beautiful arbor was designed by Christopher Alexander, an architect at the Center for Environmental Structure in Berkeley.
It has been home to the Vineyard Farmer's Market since 1980. Supporting columns are covered with mosaic tiles.
