The Santa Fe Basque Restaurant is a traditional family style Basque restaurant originally catering to the many Basque shepherds in the western United States. It was originally in the Santa Fe Hotel, across the street from Fresno's Santa Fe train depot, but is now located at 3110 North Maroa Avenue in Fresno.
Two of us went for lunch on a Saturday. We ordered the Basque meal with chicken kebab and lamb shanks as the other entree. If you want a lighter lunch you can get the Basque meal without an entree. The Basque meal by itself is a lot of food (split pea soup, shrimp potato salad, green salad, green bean stew, and spaghetti and meatballs).
