Oggi Cosi Si Mangia

Oggi Cosi Si Mangia

Oggi Cost Si Mangia ("This Is How We Eat Today!") is a traditional Italian-style tavern offering finer dining (in this case, black tablecloth). The restaurant specializes in dinner, having nightly specials in addition to the menu items, and is open Tuesday - Saturday, 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. "Oggi" (pronounced ‘OH gee’) is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Mr. Maglieri - the owner - loves his restaurant, so do not be surprised if he strolls over to your table and asks how you are enjoying your meal.

Oggi is located at 1110 Van Ness Avenue (southeast corner of Olive Avenue) in the Tower District of Fresno.

Warm, fresh bread, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Ruby Port (Oggi has a selection of craft beers and wines)

Oggi Bruschetta (pronounced, brew-sheh-ta). This traditional Italian appetizer piles tomatoes, herbs, and crumbled cheese atop of grilled bread rubbed with garlic, and drizzled with balsamic glaze and olive oil

Roasted Beet Salad (appetizer, with greens, balsamic glaze, and pear slices)

Frutti Di Mare (pronounced, "fruit-ee dee ma-ray"). Translated as "Fruit of the Sea," this is an Italian shellfish dish (the shellfish are the 'fruit'). Oggi's frutti di mare has clams, mussels, and shrimp over fettuccine.

Cioppino (pronounced, che-pee-no). This sumptuous fish stew was one of that night's specials.
Our meal of two entrees, two appetizers, and a glass of ruby port came to $129.57, including tax.
