The Dog House Grill is a Fresno institution. Located at 2789 East Shaw Avenue in Fresno, across the street from the Fresno State Save Mart Center, it is a popular spot for a  pre-game meal. The Dog House Grill is part of a family of four barbecue restaurants in Central California. It is also a sports bar. The Dog House Grill is almost always busy, with a line in front.

We went to the Dog House Grill before noon on a weekday, and the place had filled by noon. We ordered the classic tri-tip sandwich and a 'Dog House' salad. The Dog House Grill is open from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
