Little Fat Dumpling

Little Fat Dumpling

Little Fat Dumpling is a family-owned dumpling and noodle house. The menu contains pot stickers, dumplings including a vegetarian option, noodle dishes, traditional Chinese dishes, and their signature dish: Soup Dumplings. Little Fat Dumpling is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m until 9:00 p.m. It is located at 8482 North Friant Road in north Fresno, across the parking lot from Trader Joe's.
We ordered three dishes for lunch: beef noodle soup, ma-po tofu, and soup dumplings.

Soup Dumplings
Soup Dumplings are a steamed meat- and broth-filled dumpling made with gelled soup that liquifies when heated. The dumplings are carefully folded with a gap on top so they do not explode when heated. Soup dumplings can be eaten whole on a spoon, or the soup can be drained from the dumpling into a spoon and swallowed, followed by eating the dumpling. The dumplings are served in the steamer. They are popular in Shanghai cuisine.  The broth has a unique flavor from the pork, ginger, and green onions imbuing it.

Beef Noodle Soup
The beef noodle soup has a very rich meaty broth and noodles. The meat is in the soup to flavor the broth, so it is boned and gristly. You can eat the beef if you want but do not expect filleted chunks.
Ma-Po Tofu
Ma-Po tofu is a classic Sichuan dish of soft tofu and ground pork in a spiced meat sauce. While moderately hot, ma-po tofu will not set your mouth on fire.

Our three dishes for two people came to $33.44 including tax. We had leftovers to take home.
