Superior Dairy is a Valley institution: it is the 'go to' place for gargantuan ice cream concoctions. For 90 years, Superior Dairy has been operating in Hanford, California. Superior Dairy makes its own creations--such as the S.O.S (Super Oversized Sundae) served in a 3.5 pound goblet-- as well as enlarged versions of traditional ice cream dishes such as the Banana Split. Superior Dairy is both an ice cream parlor and a diner, serving a limited menu of sandwiches and salads.
Superior Dairy is located at 325 N Douty Street in Hanford (about 35 miles from Fresno). It is open 7 days a week, 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. If you come at lunch time in the summer, expected a wait. The place is packed.
