Tah Deeg is a Persian restaurant located in outdoor part of the Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis. "Tah Deeg" is Persian for 'bottom of the pot' and refers to the crispy, tasty golden layer of rice at the bottom of a pot of Persian-style pilaf. Tah Deeg serves a range of Persian-style kabobs, stews, and braised dishes, and they are especially adept at preparing lamb (a traditional regional dish). Meals are preceded by a warm, crunchy, and flavorful flatbread, with the fresh garnishes of greens and onions and two homemade dips - thick yogurt with shallots and a crushed pomegranate and walnut dip (a specialty of the owner). Many of the sauces are also yogurt-based or pomegranate-and-walnut based, distinct and nicely tart.

Tah Deeg is open Monday - Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; Saturday, 11:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

We ordered two lunches - Lamb Shank and Sweet and Sour Lamb - plus tea. The total was $44.81 (including tax).
