Huong Lan is a Vietnamese soup and sandwich restaurant with three locations in Fresno. Huong Lan's soups and sandwiches are not Americanized versions but original Vietnamese versions created from family recipes. Pictures on the walls show the owner's family selling sandwiches in a refugee camp in Malaysia. Huong Lan is named for a sandwich shop in Vietnam. (Huong Lan a flowering tree, whose aromatic orange flowers make "Joy" perfume.)
The Huong Lan menu contains 17 sandwiches, pho, noodle soups, noodle bowls, rice plates, steamed rice sheet rolls, and pearl drinks (boba).
We had lunch at the location on West Shaw Avenue at Brawley Avenue. The other two locations are located on East Shaw Avenue at North Fresno Avenue and on Kings Canyon at Clovis Avenue. We ordered one banh mi sandwich, spring rolls, rare steak pho, and chicken noodle soup with vermicelli.
