La Empanada Buen Provecho

La Empanada Buen Provecho

We continue with our food truck, kiosk, and curbside posts due to the COVID-19 closure of dine-in restaurants.

La Empanada Buen Provecho is a food truck open five nights a week in Fresno at the northeast corner of East Ashlan Avenue and North Fresno Street. The food truck is open from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 6 p.m. until midnight on Friday and Saturday. The food truck is closed on Sunday and Monday.

The side of the food truck gives the history of the Empanada:
"Empanada comes from the verb empanar, which means to wrap or coat in bread. Empanadas originated in Spain. This dish was carried to all Spanish colonies and variations of this form of 'portable meals' are wildly popular throughout the world. This wonderful delicacy can be baked or fried; the stuffing can be sweet or salty. All crafted using a variety of meats or vegetables. Bon Appetit!"

We ordered two chicken empanadas, one pizza empanada, one beef empanada, and a pastry creme dessert empanada. You wait while they are fried, and then the entire order is given to you warm in a brown bag, with each empanada inside in a small white bag that is labeled. The empanadas were still warm when we opened them at home.

Out total came to $15.66 including tax.
