808 Poke Shack

 808 Poke Shack

The 808 Poke Shack is a Hawaiian Fusion food truck serving the Fresno area. 808 Poke Shack has a menu of Hawaiian combination plates and a poke menu. The 808 in its name comes from the area code for Hawaii.
We ordered the garlic furikake chicken combo (fried chicken cutlet lathered in garlic, sweet soy, and furikake seasoning containing dried fish, sesame seeds, chopped seaweed, sugar and salt), white rice, and macaroni salad. We also ordered two varieties of poke. The first was Da Kine poke with shoyu, sea salt, and sesame oil. The name Da Kine for this bowl comes from a Hawaiian Pidgin term that serves as a kind of catch-all and is probably the most identifying characteristic of spoken Hawaiian Pidgin.
The second poke order was wasabi ginger poke with wasabi, shoyu, and ginger. Both salmon and tuna are on the menu. Our poke was made with tuna because they were out of salmon the day we ordered. Poke is served with mixed greens, seaweed salad, crab salad, and pickled ginger.

Out total for the three dishes came to $34.64 including tax. 808 Poke Shack can be found at the usual food truck locations in the Fresno area bu checking their website, Instagram, or Facebook.
