Cacau Sweets
Our COVID-19 journey of outside venues takes us to a Brazilian-Swedish bakery, Cacau Sweets. Cacau Sweets can be found in farmer's markets in the Fresno area. Cacua is the Portuguese word for cocoa.
Cacau Sweets is run by a couple: he has Swedish heritage and she is from Brazil. The result is an interesting combination of Swedish and Brazilian baked goods as well as baked goods featuring Valley produce. For example, the persimmon cookies and strawberry-rhubarb muffins are neither Swedish nor Brazilian but are made with local persimmons and strawberries from the farmer's market. The baked goods also include vegan items.
We bought Brazilian cheese bread (Pao de Queijo) or PDQ, a Swedish cardamom braid, and a Swedish Delicato Globe (chocolate oat pastries with coconut in a plastic globe).
Cacau Sweets can be found through Instagram or Facebook.
