Intertribal Tacos
Our COVID-19 food truck journey takes us to Intertribal Tacos. Intertribal Tacos is a Fresno area food truck serving Native American food. It is operated by members of the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel (located in Northern San Diego County). The menu features tacos made on traditional fry bread instead of tortillas as well as traditional tacos. Fry bread was created from the government commodities that Native Americans were given during their forced migration.
We ordered a pow wow taco with chicken (made on fry bread with cabbage and cilantro), an Indian taco with asada (fry bread with beans, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream), and a sweet fry bread (fry bread, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and honey).
Our total came to $21.59 including tax.
