The House of Ju Ju is a restaurant specializing in gourmet burgers. They also have soups, salads, hot dogs, and vegetarian items on the menu. It is located in a new building in Old Town Clovis at 565 Pollasky Avenue. The owners also have opened a location at the beach in Moro Bay. We went on a Saturday at lunch time, and we had to put our names on a waiting list.
We ordered a bowl of clam chowder. It is not the traditional creamy clam chowder but a chowder strongly flavored with bacon. We added optional grilled shrimp to the chowder.
We also ordered a 'flight' of three sliders so we could sample the House of Ju Ju burgers. We had Ju Ju roasted potatoes as the side dish with the burgers. The other options for sides included chili or a spring mix salad. Our first burger choices was the Ju Ju Blue with creamy bleu cheese, caramelized onions, crumbled bleu cheeze, and crispy applewood smoked bacon. Our second burger was the Dragon Lady with homemade spicy garlic aioli, house pickled onions, topped with Ju Ju's signature teriyaki slaw. Our third burger choice was the Leticia, with homemade spicy chipotle cilantro sauce, pepper jack cheese, roasted ortega green chile, lettuce, sliced tomato, and fresh avocado. Burgers are served on toasted brioche rolls.
